At SP3 we have spent over 100 man-years of R&D optimizing coating variables for most carbide round tool geometries and machining applications.
SP3 has the capabilities to coat a wide variety of tungsten carbide round tools. Typical cutting tool products for CVD diamond coating include:
Drilling Tools
Micro Drills
Jobber and Stub Drills
Taper Drills
Step Drills
Coolant-fed Drills
Combination Drill/Countersink
Reamers
Taps
Other Round Tools
Milling Tools
Square, Corner Radius and Ball Nose End Mills
Routers and Roughing End Mills
Tapered End Mills
Burrs
Thread Mills
Engraving tools – single or multiple flutes
CVD Diamond coatings can be applied to tool diameters from less than 1/64 inch (0.5mm) to 1 inch (25mm). Typical cutting tool flute lengths vary from one diameter to ten diameters with the maximum coated flute length being 3 inches (75mm). The maximum overall tool length that can be coated is 8 inches (200mm).
