Silicon Wafer Coating Service
Silicon Wafer Coating Service
sp3 offers diamond-on-silicon deposition services for customer supplied wafers, coated to a variety of specifications, to bring previously unachievable thermal conductivity or other capabilities to electronics applications. Our Model 650 Hot Filament Diamond Deposition System provides diamond growth over areas up to 350 mm by 375 mm for standard microcrystalline diamond films, very smooth nanocrystalline diamond films and conductive boron doped films.
The Model 650 offers the following specifications for silicon-on-diamond and diamond-on-silicon coated wafers:
Wafer Diameter
100, 150, 200 and 300 mm
Film Thickness
0.5 to 3.0 micron, with thicker films available on special order
Wafer Flatness
Dependent on wafer diameter and thickness Typical flatness is ±50 microns on a 200 mm wafer with a 1.0 micron film
Uniformity
±10% over specified diameter

DiaBide Toll Coating Service
sp3 Diamond Technologies is a leader in toll coating of carbide flat and round cutting tools, thanks to our proprietary DiaBide toll coating process. Adding a diamond coating to cutting tools makes them extremely hard, which decreases wear and improves cutting performance, offering significant value to cutting tool manufacturers and end users alike. sp3's proprietary 3D filament capability provides uniform deposition over long flute round tool designs.
sp3 will coat standard tungsten carbide tools, such as inserts, endmills, drills and grooving inserts. In addition to cutting tools, sp3 routinely applies diamond to customer furnished silicon carbide items such as form tools, wear parts, seals and wire guides.
As with all DiaBide diamond, the selection begins with the Material Application Code. Let sp3 work with you to determine the best application range to obtain the highest-quality diamond coatings available.
Custom Diamond Tools
sp3 Diamond Technologies will coat customer-supplied tungsten carbide tools, such as inserts, endmills, drills and grooving inserts. These may be standard tools purchased by the customer, or tools manufactured to a special configuration.
Electrode Coatings
sp3 Diamond Technologies also brings the benefits of diamond to electrode coatings. With its high biocompatibility and extreme chemical resistance, diamond is an excellent materials for this applications. Diamond coatings are finding application in electrodes for water treatment and electrochemistry and can be doped to achieve the desired electrical conductivity for any given application.
