More than any other company in the marketplace, sp3 Diamond Technologies has the background, knowledge and experience with diamond that our customers need to realize the full potential of this exceptional material.
With more than 15 years experience manufacturing diamond using our proprietary hot filament technology, and exploring diamond's potential application across a broad range of industries, sp3 brings a depth of understanding of diamond that is unmatched by our competitors.
sp3 has explored the unique properties of diamond at length, and has been the recipient of numerous research grants to study its feasibility for novel applications.
Some of the projects of record at sp3 include:
- Completion of a DARPA contract to introduce sp3's nanoparticle diamond thin film deposition process into the MEMS Exchange.
- Phase I and II SBIR contracts from the Missile Defense Agency for the development of Gallium Nitride (GaN) on silicon-on-diamond (SOD). The project delivered GaN on SOD devices suitable for radar transmit/ receive modules, as well as a documented process for producing GaN on SOD substrates and initial reliability data.
- Delivery of a Model 650 Hot Filament CVD Reactor to Heriot-Watt University for use as part of Heriot-Watt's research into developing technologies for withstanding the immense heat associated with nuclear fusion reactions.
- IMAPS/MASH 2007 Conference presentation of sp3 and Sensis Corporation's research into thermal management of high heat density semiconductor devices.
- Exploration of cost-effective thermal management of high heat flux RF and wide bandgap devices using CVD diamond.
- Participation in research programs with a variety of universities and consortiums to study a broad range of potential applications for diamond.
